WHAT HAPPENED?
The Red Dragons have enjoyed a meteoric rise since a ball was first kicked in anger at the start of that season. They were a National League side back then, but rewrote the history books when savouring title glory with 111 points.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wrexham bounced straight through League Two – finishing as runners-up in that division – and now sit at the top of the third tier table after picking up four wins and a draw from their opening five games in 2024-25. Nobody can claim to have been as successful as the Welsh outfit over the last two-and-a-bit seasons.

McElhenney is delighted to see that the investment of faith and funds from himself and fellow co-owner Ryan Reynolds is being rewarded, and credits Phil Parkinson with making all of that possible. He has posted on social media, alongside a remarkable statistic that features an image of Wrexham’s manager: “And it’s all because of this man. In Phil we trust.”
